An API key lets your own scripts and tools work with your MakerManifest account: read and create gear lists, add items, and create short links.
The same key works with the MCP connector, so AI assistants that support MCP can manage your lists for you.

How to use it

Open API Access from the dashboard sidebar.

Click "New Key", give the key a name, and click "Create".

Copy the key straight away and keep it somewhere safe.

Send it as a Bearer token in the Authorization header. The API Reference on the same page has examples.
