Short Links
Create memorable mkr.ms short links for any URL
Short links let you create compact, trackable redirect links on the mkr.ms domain. Every gear list and gear list item already gets a short link automatically, and you can also create short links for any arbitrary URL — not just lists.
Use Dashboard → Shorten URL to create a short link for any http or https destination. You can accept an auto-generated code (e.g. mkr.ms/aB3xYz), or on Basic and Premium enter a custom vanity code of your choice (letters, numbers, and hyphens, 2–50 characters).
Every short link tracks its own click count. Short links that resolve to affiliate product pages will still apply your affiliate rules at redirect time, so your tags are included even when the entry point is a manual short link.
Short links are ideal for YouTube descriptions, Instagram bios, TikTok link-in-bio, printed materials, and anywhere else a full product URL would be unwieldy.
Key capabilities
- Create short links for any URL on the mkr.ms domain
- Auto-generated code, or a custom vanity code on Basic and Premium
- Click tracking per short link
- Affiliate rules applied at redirect time
- Every gear list and item already gets a short link automatically
- Available on all plans
How to use it
Go to Dashboard → Shorten URL.
Paste the destination — a product page, your own site, anything you want to track clicks on.
Optionally set the code yourself (Basic and Premium). A link ending in /dewalt-drill tells someone more than one ending in /a7Xk2.
Create it. The link works immediately. The destination is stored exactly as you pasted it, so any affiliate or referral code already in the URL stays yours.
Need to point it somewhere else later? Hit the pencil on the link and change the destination. The code stays the same, so anywhere you already shared it keeps working.
Clicks are counted per link, so you can tell which placement actually worked rather than guessing.
